Qatar 2022 should be in winter: FIFA man

Imagen activaThe International Federation of Football Amateur planed to hold in winter the World Cup of Qatar-2022, to avoid the sweltering temperatures of the summer months, according to the German daily Tagesspiegel. Jordan's Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, FIFA vice-president, told Tagesspiegel that a change of dates is exclusive competence of Qatar.

It is preferable, although this may force countries like Spain and the UK to change their usual schedules.

Al Hussein warned that temperatures in Qatar during winter are between 12 and 21 degrees Celsius, while in Summer the average is about 41 degrees, with highs of up to 59.

The candidature of Qatar came airy based on the struggle to organize the 2022 World Cup, but still it must solve sensitive problems such as infrastructure, stadiums, transportation, and safety as well as air conditioning for sports areas to reduce extreme temperatures.
