Auckland City win Oceania title, advance to Club World Cup

Auckland City earned an invitation to the lucrative FIFA Club World Cup and a $500,000 payday after their 4-0 win in the second leg of the Oceania Football Confederation club final against Vanuatu's Amicale on Sunday.
Alex Feneridis, Daniel Koprivcic, Manel Exposito and substitute Adam McGeorge all scored for Auckland to give them a 6-1 aggregate after they snatched a 2-1 win in the first leg in Port Vila on April 2.
It is the third time that the amateur side from New Zealand's largest city will represent Oceania at the Club World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in Japan in December.
Auckland confounded expectations in 2009 when they finished fifth at the FIFA tournament, winning two of their three games. Please double click on the newslink: for more soccer stories
