Qatar defender Bilal Mohammed hailed his side's mental toughness after the 2-0 win against China on Wednesday evening.

After suffering a 2-0 loss to Uzbekistan in their opening Asian Cup fixture, the Annabi are now back on track to qualify for the knock-out stage of the tournament.

"After the first game it wasn’t a good start for us. This was the start for us and we played a very good game," the Qatari captain told the-Afc.com.
"It was about our mentality. The coach tried to get us to forget about the last game and we know that wasn't the real us.
"We decided to start from this game and we did it. You saw the fighting spirit. I hope it can continue in the game against Kuwait.
"In the first game I think we felt a lot of pressure. It was the first match, and everybody was there so I think maybe this is the main reason we lost the first game.
"I believe in myself and my colleagues and we also played under pressure because we knew if we lost this game we were out but I think we know how to deal with this and we did it."
Turning his attention to the next match against Kuwait, Mohammed admits the team will need to pick up their game, after a recent 1-0 loss to Sunday's opponents in the Gulf Cup of Nations.
"I don't think it will be easy against Kuwait," he continued. "We played against them at the last Gulf Cup and we lost 1-0.
"We know them very well and I think we will start preparing for this game from tomorrow and it will be a very important game for us. It means we will pass to the next round," he concluded.
